Functional Art For Horse and Rider

Caring for your mohair cinch is really quite easy. Use a soft horse brush to loosen dried dirt and debris.

Once in a while simply rinse the cinch in a bucket of cool water by holding the buckles and gently agitating to remove dirt. You can use a gentle soap like woolite, mild castile soap or horse shampoo to remove grime that can build. Leaving the horse hair that builds on the underside of the cinch adds comfort and padding for the horse. It is best to lay the cinch flat to dry out of direct sunlight. Keep your cinch in a moth-free environment.

Hint: If you notice a lot of sweat on your horse when you remove your cinch it likely has grimy build-up from oils on the horse and it’s time for some mild soap! Your cinch will breath again and wick away the moisture.
